Poetry by Allana Alberto

I was looking at myself

I was only playing a part

With my long, painted, nails

I don’t need any help

I towered everyone with my heels

Pointy, little, weapons that I struggled to balance

But it made me beautiful

I love how it feels

I might as well be wearing a mask

I drew and carve my face to perfection

I would wear it everyday

Cherish it until it lasts

Every single time I put them on

I am madly inspired

I was looking at myself

Then realized I was only playing a part
